Tucson will unveil a housing plan this week aimed at making housing more affordable and assisting first-time buyers. The People, Communities, and Home Investment Plan, developed since 2020, addresses the city's affordability crisis, with 75,000 households spending over 30% of their income on housing. Home prices have nearly doubled in seven years, while rents have increased by two-thirds. The plan includes developing 1,200 housing units and promoting accessory dwelling units and tiny house villages to tackle the issue.
