Pima County officials are launching a new round of funding for the Lighthouse program, aimed at assisting first-time homebuyers with down payment support. Initiated in response to rising home prices and mortgage rates, the program now has about $25 million available. Currently, less than 40% of homes are affordable for families with median incomes, down from 70% pre-pandemic. First-time homeowners can access the program on a first-come, first-serve basis, receiving down-payment assistance and fixed-rate, below-market mortgages.
